Idea to encourage to add new content into Carcassonne

Post by MiBol-1986 »

Hi community.

I'm thinking this for a while, and I don't know if this is possible or legally accepted...

But how about opening a Patreon, Kickstarter or something like this to support the team or the group of people that can make changes, improvements to add new content (expansions) into Carcassonne into the BGA platform.

I will be more glad to support economically for that happen, I'm thinking maybe in some goals and according to that, include expansions and addons based on the complexity.

This is feasible? It's a good idea?

---

I just bought the Carcassonne version from Asmodee, and yes, is graphically "better". But the BGA version is the best so far, and the community in this website is wide extensive than any other outside...

This idea seems fine; I'd love to see the people who develop games on BGA actually paid a real salary, benefits etc. out of the money that premium users pay. That might be too much to fund via patreon and kickstarter though. Oh well. Good luck. Best wishes.

Adding expansions requires the publisher's approval.

Yeah, that I was thinking, maybe something that will more complicated than just having the best wishes to implement more stuff in the platform.

I actually have an idea for board game in real life, did anyone consider magnets to keep tiles locked in place? When I play with my kids they drive me insane by pushing everything around.

Looks a good idea, I'm an online player, but using magnets will require a metal surface to play... When I played with my brothers we used a table of plastic or wood... sooo... ... it's not for me :)

The magnets keeping the tiles locked to each other instead of the surface would work just as well. You don't have to keep them from moving at all, just keep them from moving relative to each other. So you don't necessarily need a metallic surface.

Yes! You could use something like this with the Carcassonne pieces:
