Time clock should be adjusted late in game to allow some red to be tolerated, especially in "end play" to win. You ought to have a chance to appeal a game result in such circumstances to adjust in some "extreme cases." Maybe you can do this, but I sure don't know how it's done.

You can already adjust the time clock to allow more time in later turns: Play on normal instead of fast

So clearly most users don't want to play at those speeds. Why should they be forced to because someone would rather ignore the turn speed of the table than wait to find a game that suits them? To quote an argument from earlier in the thread:
I just don't get the haste some/many people here seem to have. It's a game, it should be enjoyed. Relax! I understand getting annoyed if there's (analysis paralysis in real-time games) a wait to find an appropriate table, but if (someone) a table doesn't play the way you like (too fast) just (finish the game and don't play with them another time.) Wait for a different table. If it's a turn-based game though .... why would you even care if it's a few hours or days later that you (make your next move?) Find a table to join?

If you want more time in the last turns, play your earlier turns faster so you have more time left at the end.

If you put yourself in a position where you need to use more time than available in your last turns... you made a mistake.

Allowing some players to take more time than specified in the settings is unfair to other players who maybe made suboptimal moves because they were trying to stick to the time.

95% of all games i play are turn based, 1 turn a day. Otherwise it starts feeling like work, and for me its relaxation. My problem is that, even at the slow(est) pace of 1 turn a day, real life interferes regurlarly with me logging in daily. Most of the time i finish my games within the set time. And sometimes i go into the red, most of the times i can finish the game, but more often, somebody kicks me, not for running out of time, but because i am winning, it feels to me as being cheated out of a victory, plus my karma goes down.
But look at me rambling, i was curious whether it is possible, once in the red, to get back to "within time", besides playing more often, which is not an option for me?

It might feel like that but it is not actually like that. You were losing on time and you lost. To be clear, there is a problem in multiplayer games, but the core issue you describe is not a problem - that works as intended and as it should. And, to be clear, if you play once a day, you will on average regain time in a 1/day game, and you have several holiday jokers which will add time (even beyond the cap), so this cannot happen to you because you missed one turn, you have to be consistently missing the pace you agreed to by a lot. And you do have the option of playing without the clock.

There's also 1 move per 2 days. If that's still not enough, you can play friendly mode (no time limits).

I had a quick glance at your profile and saw that your two most recent kicks were from 4 turns per day games. If logging in once a day does not fit with your schedule then you should be paying attention of the table settings before you join a game and absolutely should not be joining a 4 moves per day game. This is not you being "cheated out of a victory", this is you not respecting the time of the other people you are playing with.

Crystal1501 wrote: 12 February 2025, 02:26 The only thing I will point out is I did suggest a time period where, if a player has run over by less than 6 hours, it's a group decision, however if it's been run over by more than 6 hours only one player needs to expel.
Let me point out that you just request to extend the time bank by 6 hours. If the time bank is 72 hours (3 days) you wish for a time bank of 78 hours (3 days and 6 hours). You are perfectly fine if a player waits 78 hours and then kicks within the first second, without having to ask the other players. Did I understand you correctly?

If we agree that the actual amount of time bank is just a number (72 or 78 hours) and will eventually arrive you are in fact proposing even more(!) kicking options than we have now!

At the moment a single player can only kick as soon as the deadline arrives and you propose that all players together can already kick 6 hours before the deadline(!) and then a single player still kick at the deadline.

Actually, I've already proposed elsewhere that expulsion could be automatic, except if all (other) players agree to give the offender some more time (within, say, 20 seconds of the time running out). That wouldn't work with turn-based games though.

Honestly, I think the best way is to make auto-booting a setting you can turn on or off for tables as you prefer. I wouldn't like auto-boot and wouldn't want to play with it for the most part, but I understand why some people do want that.

That said, we will still get people complaining about being booted, although the answer to them will be that the option was clear in the table settings and if they don't want to play with auto-booting, don't select tables with that setting. Which then leads to the argument of them not seeing the setting, not choosing it in the case where they select flexibility of settings in the new interface, or (possibly) that there aren't enough games with auto-boot turned off for them to choose those ones. The fact is there's always a set of rules, and generally they make pretty good sense, and players just need to accept that they're playing within that set of rules. Those who don't typically don't care what the rules are, they just want the rules to suit them and their exact situation all of the time. I have occasionally gone over time on tables where it was my fault for not logging on to play my turns (life usually gets busy when this happens). I don't think I've often (if ever) got booted on those tables, but I would accept it if it happened (tournament play is an entirely different thing, and I've made my argument on threads about that topic). I wouldn't boot someone in my situation (and haven't, many times), but I accept the rights of my opponents to do so.
