Not sure why people get so worked up or upset with people expressing their interest in helping with testing.
I've never done testing on BGA before, so not sure how the process works, but I too have said I'm keen to help, and got the obligatory response saying NOT YET!

I didn't expect an instant response with a date and time for when it starts... My thinking was that I've now registered my interest to help in the thread, so as and when the time comes, the hard-working dev will have a nice list people that have shown interest.
Perhaps others are in the same boat.

Please can there be less of the sarcasm and aggro with people who love this great game and would just like to help as and when the time comes.

I understand, and I (as the developer) have tried to be polite about it. I know people are excited.

I just don't want you to feel ignored, since posts are not being treated as a signup or anything. Once I finish the last features I am working on before public testing, I will announce details about testing.

If you want to do alpha testing, the most helpful thing anyone can do is review the requirements here: https://boardgamearena.com/reviewer

It may seem daunting to play so many games, but remember they can be short games, and you may have a month or two to get there.

Hello all,

TI4 is not supposed to be in public alpha yet.

...that said, can a normal BGA alpha tester please check https://boardgamearena.com/reviewer?sort=alphadate_desc and see if TI4 appears in the list? I and another developer saw a sudden flood of players in private alpha groups today, so I suspect something went haywire.

I got a suden rush of addrenaline when Noticed on the discussion forum a table oppened. Kind of sad that it is not the case yet, but I know it is for the best.

I'll keep waiting... hoping... and waitng. :)

I honestly don't know! I would need someone who a normal BGA reviewer to check if TI4 shows up on the list publicly.

If so, I might as well roll with it, but I will need to announce the remaining missing features so people are not confused.

hm.... I asked a friend of mine to check it and he said TI4 is not showing there. I believe this is indeed the case. Perhaps it was showning for a few minutes, reason why there was this high influx of players, but then they removed it, probably. From my point of view it is not showing there, and when I go directly to the page I see the "black banner", that is different than the "purple banner" from the public alpha.

Sorry to get your hope up then. It does appear one new table was created, but then the powers that be must have fixed it.

Anyway, I am planning to deploy deal / transaction support today, so we are getting pretty close to public testing.
