Pohrawg wrote: 29 January 2025, 22:20 Hi, I'm the dev for Dead Cells here on BGA. So let me explain a few points on why it is released in parts.

Firstly, and most important of all, the game's huge scope means implementing everything first would push back the release considerably (at least 6 months).
For the same reason, the beta phase would have been tremendously long and most of those beta players would have seen all content already thinning out the community to play with.

There are secondary reasons. For example, the physical copy of the game is in short supply currently. As consolation the publisher wanted to provide a digital version sooner rather than later.
Also, when new players spectate a table, they don't see content too far ahead.

The Ramparts (3rd biome) are due to release on april 1st. The second major part, containing the second boss, is due in June. There is no fixed date for all content but it will be available at the end of the year for sure.

Hope that helps

No, need to justify yourself. You did / are doing a fantastic job. Thank you so very much.

However, I can't help seeing the ironie... a famous video game is turned into a board game, and after that it is turned into kind of a video game again. Yet, I am glad you are doing this. Keep going, please. This game deserves better than to suffer the fate of other unfinished business here on BGA (i.e. Mythic Battles - or as it might by called: "Mythic Bug-Tales").

I got a group of 3 I'm currently playing with and invite them to another game after each run and it seems to continue with our previous progress.

If I am to start a solo session how does the app knows to start without a progress and to separate between the two?
Each group of players (=BGA accounts) has their own campaign. This means you can have a solo campaign and multiple group campaigns.
You cannot however have multiple campaigns with the exact same group.

Is there only some campaign content included? Regardless it's a great addition to the site, even having access to a taster for such a big game would be great, and I'm looking forward to trying it out - but yeah, I don't understand what about this is "Part 1".
There are currently only 2 biomes implemented and 1 boss.
There are total of 7 biomes and 3 bosses.

This is an absolutely awesome build both on game itself and implementation on here. Thank you very much.

I am really happy for you guys to take the next steps and really appreciate all your hard work. But i can’t help to wonder, that there seem more downtimes and issues since this release. Is it related? I sure want to stay positive, so I hope anyone can elaborate. Thanks!
