Dear moderator/reader,
it is neither good practice, nor sportive and frankly irritating to the other players that some players create multiple accounts to participate in the same tournament. I think we all agree on that.
It is currently possible to report a player with such a fleet of accounts, but it is not clear to me if this extends to Arena gaming mode. After all, the Arena of every boardgame is also a form of tournament, so it should not be allowed there either. However, I tried to report a player in two Arena tournaments that has two accounts in both games. He uses these to achieve multiple positions in the high ranks of this game to his own satisfaction.
This pollutes the ranking for the other players and as I said at the beginning is not desirable.
Can we do something about it? My reports so far have been ignored or resolved in no action. I know other players in the same Arenas have reported said player, but with no better result. To me allowing this kind of behaviour strongly decreases the pleasure and competitiveness of playing on BoardGameArena, both in the Arena mode and in collecting ELO points.
I am happy to hear your thoughts and possibly opinions from moderators or managers of this website on this matter. Thanks in advance!
