Inconsistent Spanish translation of "tile" (in the game Framework)

Post by thundercanyon »

This is from a validated translation

https://boardgamearena.com/translation? ... cale=es_ES

The translator inconsistently uses "mosaico," "azulejo," and "loseta" for the English word "tile." The correct term in all cases is "loseta," which aligns with the BGA labels for games with the "tile laying" mechanic ("colocación de losetas") and is commonly used in the Spanish-speaking board gaming community.

Can someone change that? Apparently I can't edit it.

Hi, i know this is an old post, but i found this forum just now and was looking for "spanish" related posts.
I agree with your comments about the translation of "tile".
I just tried to modify one of the translations in that link and had no problem doing it.

I will try to modify all entries including "tile" if i have some time this week.

From what I read elsewhere, you must have at least 100 validated strings (IDK if in a specific language) to be able to fix validated strings.

I would only put 'azulejo' in the game Azul for obvious reasons: the official localization to spanish translates 'tiles' as 'azulejos'.

In other games this probably would be incorrect.
