Arena shenanigans

Post by Colin_Bids_One »

What’s with the sketchy activity at the top of the leaderboard? *
I’m nowhere near contending, but it’s certainly unfair to those who legitimately have scores near 2000.

*Moderation Edit: please do not use the Forums to call out specific tables or players, this is what the Moderation Reports are for. The Forums should remain a general discussion. If you have evidence of cheating, please file an official report.

It’s possible, I guess, that some kind of glitch could result in six back-to-back abandoned games between two excellent players. But obviously the results from those games, if it’s a glitch, should not be counted. But when the same player who abandoned all those games happens to lose to the top player in several of the top player’s next few ranked games (days apart) it’s clear that the ranking at the top is not legit.

Report it if you feel strongly about it. Talking about it here is both ineffective and against site policy. No, just because you didn't name the person it's not ok because you have effectively identified the top player in a specific game's arena as potentially being a cheater.

I should know. My only ever moderation on here was for referring to the INITIALS of someone's username which no one who didn't already know who it was would recognize.

I did report it, but nothing has happened. And, oh look, another Arena win against the same player and no other Arena games played against anyone else. It’s clearly cheating. People should report it.

I checked the top 1, and that doesn't look clear.
Even if you limit to arena's games, you can find some spots where many games against the same person are stopped at the same time, but they are turn based games.

If both people start like 20/30 games at the start of the season at the same time, then they will be against each other a lot per example.

Now though I looked further, and it look like there is a lot of abandon between themselves, all the time from the same player. And it's abandon after 1/3/10% of the games, which look weird for an high elo arena game. I don't believe even with an high elo patchwork you can know for sure you are losing after only 5% of the games in more than half the games.

I don’t know about the persons cheating (haven’t taken a look) but you can easily tell on turn one on quite a lot of games if you’re gonna win or lose, when you are 800 elo vs 800 elo.

Ok then that change my opinion.

As I said, there is many others opponents than those two players.

Just to bring light into that situation

I searched for a lot of games, and it happened to be the other one much more often than i like.
What happened next was, that he doesnt moved, or just took one turn. And afterwards he went inactive.

So - question to all of you reporters:

Would you kick a player whos overtime in Arena or wait if he ever comes back?

So, are we punishing Lord Chanter because someone else couldn't be bothered to play their games?

Or are we suspecting that a 3 year old account, that has played thousands of games, and a completely different selection than the ones Lord Chanter plays, is actually Lord Chanter's sock puppet? Because it seems like a pretty wild endeavour to go through only to not actually bother playing the "cheating" matches to completion.

I would definitely kick out a player who is overtime. But . . .
I've never had over 2000 points,
I've never had the opportunity to kick out a player who has over 1800 points,
I've never had 10 out 17 games scheduled against the same elite player over two two days, and
I've never had the chance to kick out a player of six games at the same time.

Perhaps it's a crazy coincidence. But the system should be set up so that you cannot rack up 93 points against the same opponent when you are over 2000 and everyone else in the top ten is struggling to get a 3-5 points per victory because their scores are so high.

I'm with you.
The coding of this page has so many bugs and flaws.
But it can't be, that i'm not allowed to click on "now play" because i got someone more than one time
I can't influence who i get, i even have oppened the settings to not only play Players my league
Im open to play anyone

And in that Situation someone had like 10-15 points more than me
And i get around 0.75 points per win, if its not for a top ranked player
So i searched for like 20 games - which i all have to win btw to not make it a zero sum game or worse

I shouldn't have gotten so much arena points for kicking him with 0-1% game played
But that again
Bad coding..

And thanks to your report and in my opinion very bad moderating im down to 100 elo and got ripped of all elo-achievments.. So yeay, be aware not to click on "play now"
