[[GUIDE] CANNOT UNDO list

Post by BananaHarambe »

Hi everyone I’m making a list of the actions of this game that cannot be undone for reference to all players, especially beginners.

TLDR: Cannot undo card draw, "a player of your choice discards",any "copy" card/effect, and any card that summons another card for free.
  • Any card draw effect. Once you’ve drawn a card, you cannot undo. Every game prevents undos after getting hidden information. Drawing a card cannot be undone on any effect.

Summoning Genie. Last chance to undo is when you are selecting which stones to summon with. No undo once
It is summoned regardless of how many sand timer effects you have triggered. Even if you haven’t selected one yet.

Genie Exalted active effect to copy a sand timer effect. Once the target has been selected to copy the ability triggers and cannot be undone. I’ve learned this the hard way copying Horned Salamander effect instead of Freyja 😂

Summoning Dragon Egg. Can undo when clicking on Dragon Egg and paying stones. However, once the dragon to summon has been selected it cannot be undone.

Summoning Young Forest Spirit. Summoning it and discarding the card for the effect can each be undone, but once the other card is summoned for free it cannot be undone. If you accidentally select the card you want to summon first and its discard, you can undo thankfully.

Summoning any “player of your choice discards” cards, Leviathan, Marina, Ember, Gust, and Boulder. Once you’ve chosen a player for these cards they cannot be undone, even if you choose yourself. All of them should allow to undo summon before selecting which player to discard, however one or more of them might be bugged (I can confirm Boulder can be undone), can’t remember if they’re all fixed now.

Summoning Scorch. Once you select the card to copy, it cannot be undone. Before selecting target you can undo summoning.

Did I miss anything? That should be everything. EDIT: added the discard dragons and leviathan. AND SCORCH

Effects that can actually be undone that may be unexpected.

Hydra CAN be undone unless it draws a card, despite the fact that it could draw a card. This one is coded well.

Tengu summon CAN be undone every though it goes on top of the deck.

Thanks for this, genie has always been a weird one for me and one thats definitely tripped me up a few times. Even if it doesn't trigger anything it still can't be undone!

Yeah that’s a rough one for sure! Notice that every effect on the cannot be undone list are cards/affects that “could” cause a card to be drawn. Programming undo on each of these cards is more effort than individual cards because it needs to cover every possible action and check for eligibility of the undo.

Summoning Willow for free would draw a card so any card summoning Willow would need to have a check to see what was summoned and if it’s eligible for undo.

Likewise on any sand timer copy effects and Griffon being able to draw a card. Genie Exalted likely has MASSIVE code for it already, having each copy action listed on it. Allowing it to undo would need to include a check for if it copied Griffon to draw a card. Programming it to undo would be extremely tedious because 26 sand timer effects would need their undos coded separately.

For Genie, the dev has refused to code undo for it because of the difficulty required versus the benefit. Don’t expect an undo for that one any time soon haha.

It would be great if this guide stayed visible so many players could see it and prevent their oops moments. ;)
