Unfair Game Algorithm

Post by SatuSUPARI »

Recently, I started to notice a trend in the game. When I play with players matched with higher points than me, I see the tickets they get to choose are the ones with maximum points. I'm currently in 1400s in elite league, if I get matched with someone upto 1800s, 8 out of 10 games they have had the ticket - Seattle to NY, or something similar. I finish 7 tickets like Kansas to Houston, or Duluth to El Paso, basically no more than 13 points. They clearly have an advantage and they win. Similarly, when I get matched with someone from Platinum league, or low Elite Points, 80% of the time I win with higher tickets. I think this is not fair.

This could be my poor game skill, but I noticed this 4-5 times. The moment I reach 1450 points or 1500, I start to lose every game, because I am matched with ranked players or I don't get the bigger tickets.

Is it just me or someone else also have observed the same?

Randomness produces all kinds of trends over short runs. It is normal and no indication of any unfairness in the algorithm. More lucky trends are gonna happen to you too, don't worry.

Everyone starts the season with 1500 elite points. So if you are struggling to keep the 1500 level, that probably means your level is below average and you should try improving it, instead of coming up with a conspiracy-like theory.

I'm not sure how well do you read and comprehend, my post mentions my poor gaming skills or an observing trend. I don't understand how you can use the word "conspiracy like theory" for such a trivial thing. This community is for playing games, board games. I don't think all of us are where you are!

Well, it seems to me you are suggesting that there is some kind of algorithm that favors higher-ranked players with better starting tickets. This is what I call a conspiracy-like theory, and we've seen plenty of them in these forums.

For what you observed it would be appropriate to name the thread you started "I got unlucky". I think with a fair title you might've not gotten such a strong reaction ;)

I'd like to still suggest you review some basic communication and comprehension skills. I have very clearly mentioned the words like 'noticed', 'observed', etc. I also accept my game might not be good. I also ask - has someone else also observed this?

I am trying hard to understand your pov, but I can't seem to get from where do you get - "I'm suggesting something". Any amount of reference to context I try, that output doesn't show up. You might have seen plenty threads in the forum, and if you have responded to those, I now see why there are plenty posts! LMAO

From the mere title "unfair game algorithm" and your sentence "when I play with players matched with higher points than me, I see the tickets they get to choose are the ones with maximum points".
I'd like to still suggest you review some basic communication and comprehension skills.
And that also tells me you are "suggesting something" :D
Oh, wait... you are not suggesting, you are only saying that you'd like to suggest...

Dude seriously learn some skills, the fact you have to quote something actually means you got nothing. I don’t care about what you think your interpret. Each one to their own. The forum is a free space to talk and discuss and whatever I write is my opinion.

I didn’t ask you to comment or tell me what to do. So, here take your nose and mind your business. Share your opinion don’t make nasty comments.
