Because you get to play more tiles?

Seems to me it's an enormous advantage.
Why doesn't everyone get the same number of turns?

Doesn't anyone else think the sudden-death finish is a terrible rule?

I agree with you. First player has more moves and can grab butterfly tile if its on one of uncovered piles
