Ticket to Ride Europe ELO scoring

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone could explain to me or point me in the direction of where to look (if this info is already available online) how the ELO scoring works with the ticket to ride games? In particular Europe. Sometimes i win by more than 30+ compared to second place but my ELO only goes up by +6. Then sometime i come second place by only a point or two less than the winner and i loose lots of ELO points? or sometimes loose by a bit more than a few and but less than 30 points and 20 ELO points are taken off me, whereas if i win by more than 30 i only gain +6, is doesn't seem quite right? and then if i win sometimes the person in second place gains more ELO points than i do? Hello, the score doesn't matter at all in the calculation of Elo (which btw is the same for every game, not only TTR) but just winning or losing does. When you play against someone, you gain or lose Elo points based on your respective rating. If your opponent is higher than you you'll win more points for beating them and lose less points for losing to them. In a multiplayer game the rule is the same, but your Elo gain/loss is the sum of what you gain/lose from every opponent. For example if you end up being second in a 4p game, you lose some Elo for losing against the first and gain some for winning against the third and fourth player. If the Elo ratings are all similar, ending up in second place would make you gain Elo, but that might change if ratings are much different

E.g. this is one of your latest games, as you can see by hovering the Elo, you gained 5.9 points by beating the 3rd player but lost 11.72 by losing to the 1st. This is because your Elo is much higher than the others so you are expected to win more often than not and when you don't you lose points

The game score does not matter. References giving the formula 100% / (1 + 10−D/400). Remember to translate percents to decimals for points, meaning 100% = 1.

I don't like the ELO scoring system. It's frustrating to lose by only a few points, the third place person loses by a lot, and I go minus points and the last place finisher does not.

Why should how close the points were matter at all? The goal is to win, not to care about by how many points was by. It's not even necessarily a good way to tell how close the game was. I've won games by over 100 points by the skin of my teeth and breezed through games where the score was "close".

Something seems strange or very harsh. For the arena I lost and lost 30 points and then won and got 7. The I was only 100 ELO ahead of the other player. How is it I would have to win 4 times for every loss just to stay even????!!!!

Because elo does not matter at all for Arena, only EAS (Elite Arena Score) counts. And the EAS difference was such that the system "thought" you should win 4 out of 5 games. If that's what you do, you stay even, if you win more you raise, if you win less you fall.

Ok this is really p!ssing me off. wtf. I lost four and lost 30,21,33, and 26 rank points. I won one game and I got 7 rank points. In other words I need to be near perfect just to break into the top 100? what the F@ck. and go ahead and ding me all you want. I just about done with this
