Keen to start a group with no "all-in" members?

Been playing quite a few games now and have noticed there’s always a few players who just go all-in every hand, even when they’ve got nothing. I feel like they just get bored after a few rounds and wanna end the game fast. Honestly, it kinda kills the vibe for me.

Thinking of starting a group for people who actually wanna play properly, like it’s a real poker. Would anyone be interested?

There's gotta be some way to affect the player's reputation if they're really doing that every hand as it does defeat the purpose of the game. Although I might be happy to take their chips, it's still not sporting.

Are you saying that you want people to agree in advance on playing pot limit, or to agree that the all-in bet is prohibited, or what?

Bottom line for me is that the option to go all in is what makes the game unique. But then i'm a geek, so I use it as one of many tools.

Yeah they're irritating (guilty partially, as I've also done it once when I was in a bad mood)

I'd suggest red thumb-ing such players and moving on as lack of sportiveness is an issue site wide.

It's impossible to play this game, with most of the players playing all-in within the first 5 hands. It's incredibly frustrating. Also creating a table with "NO ALL-IN PLAYERS" does nothing to avoid these kind of people. There's no fun playing like this, what is BGA waiting for to do something about it?? And what beats everything, is that if a player does that and you don't want to play with them anymore, you need to go all-in as it's not possible to leave the game before 50% (I did i t on my last game to end it and I think I will give up playing this game here).

What do you expect BGA to do about it? It’s within the rules of the game, so they’re allowed to do it. If someone is playing badly, that is an advantage to you (on average).

My advantage would be to play and have fun. As someone else already said, playing like that is not in the spirit of the game and certainly not in the spirit of BGA.

I get that you don’t like it, but you said BGA should do something about it, and I’m not sure what you’re hoping for. Do you think they should change the rules of the game?

I see no way for poker to remain poker if BGA does anything to prevent excessive all-in bets in a game of No Limit poker. How would you code for deciding whether an all-in is a legit play or not? Late in the game, short stack, it will naturally happen more. What's what is entirely a judgement call.

Perhaps the best solution here is for BGA to create a separate game that is Limit poker. Should be a simple spin-off of the existing game, and then you could play limit to your hearts content. It should allow both increasing blinds (like a tournament) and fixed blinds (like a cash game).

For that matter, No Limit should also allow the option to play like a cash game. Maybe limit the number of chips a player can re-buy at the same table per week or month.

The other solution, of course, is to wait until you've got good cards and then CALL those all-in bets. Nobody can have that many solid hands, so you might get burned once in a while, but you should win a lot more often than not.
