Balance of maps

Now that all the maps are available to play on, are there any which suffer from balance issues? Which corps are best on which maps?

FYI: Two maps are still missing (Utopia Planitia and Terra Cimmeria).

With Preludes, Hellas and Elysium (especially the latter) can have very early milestone claims that are basically random. It can be particular unfair if you go for the same thing as another person as there's literally no time to adapt. Amazonis isn't meant for 2-player but is still played as such here, which favors engine building over terraforming (although the latter can still be rushed to some extent) so that can be unfair too if one person gets engine components and the other does not. Vastitas so far felt similar to Hellas and Elysium.

Regardless of potential balance issues, I like the variety a lot. Tharsis becomes old pretty quickly.

I would love to see random between the 4 maps be the standard! After a season of Tharsis map I am ready for something else. The milestones can get kind of wonky on the other maps but that's part of the fun

It looks as though the new arena season is 2-player, which is good (in my opinion).


But which map? Ans are preludes included or not? How can I see the new season formant?

You are right, I found some of the milestones are similar to each other and some can be gained in the first turn or two which feels lopsided.
But am loving the variety, haven't played Tharsis in a while now!
