Possible BUG on Science VP

While playing with friends we found that science points are wrongly counted:

In the last game I have 4 compass and 1 gear: the score should be 4*4+1=17 points
The game calculated 26 points instead.

For sure there is a reason why I'm wrong but I can't help myself.

Avendo attivato l’ultimo stadio della meraviglia, che a fine partita seleziona uno tra i tre simboli in modo da avere il punteggio migliore, il gioco ti calcola 5 compassi e un ingranaggio, quindi 5*5+1, cioè 26.
