Yeah, the "2 extra minutes" suggestion has been made many times, and I agree with JimBut here.JimBut wrote: ↑16 April 2025, 08:39Isn't this just equivalent to choosing a game setting with extra time? What happens when someone goes just slightly over the new limit and people complain that there should be some leeway, do we increase the time again?actaion wrote: ↑15 April 2025, 14:19 Another one I have thought of:
Skipping is only allowed if a player has exceeded double the allowed playtime. If a player exceeds playtime just moderately, no skipping, the player wil- l get a penalty for overtiming, but no option to cancel the game. This is imho even a bitter solution for all games (incl 2p and non-tournament games)
Unless we're saying that a player could have an "emergency": time bank of, let's say, 4 minutes? To be used throughout the course of the game when something comes up, doorbell, cat pees on the carpet, important phone call, whatever. Sort of like a "time joker" similar to a vacation joker. One time joker per game, but the 4 minutes from the joker can be used whenever needed until they have been cumulatively used up.
