We are sorry to announce that Category 5 will leave BGA on next Wednesday (June 22th), as we have no license for this game after this date. AMIGO would like to concentrate Cat 5 players on BrettSpielWelt platform where there are more players and more games played. We understand perfectly and of course accept this decision. There is a enthusiastic community of Category 5 players on Board Game Arena and we are sorry for all of them, but the BrettSpielWelt adaptation is very good too and I'm sure they will continue having fun there (or with our new set of games ).

I should add that there are some possibilities for BGA and AMIGO spiele to work on others games in the future.

AMIGO, l'éditeur, souhaite que 6 qui prend ! soit disponible uniquement sur la plateforme BrettSpielWelt, où il y a plus de joueurs et plus de jeux joués. Though cat 5 is not my favorite game here, but it is very fun to play the game because of the unexpected outcome on each round, moreover if the game is played with more people...

In any case, thanks for provide the game... I might be not going to BSW just to play this game (the interface there is horrible, I must say).

Concentrate games on a platform is meaningless: the more places the game is played, the more the game is advertised and can sell real copies. This argument would be different if the editor (like Catan) has a property platform, but in this way it is pointless... I feel there is more under this decision.
BGA is a great website, with an elegant and simple interface. Maybe someone is scared by the potential success...

Yeah, I never played C5 before here, and I am pretty interested in picking up a copy for myself now. It's a shame it's leaving BGA.

BSW has so many games that I feel like the less popular ones wouldn't really get that much exposure and play, since most of the playerbase is in the other games. Their decision is really surprising to me.

I would like to clarify two points :

• 'Category 5' was one of the games we developped during the 'beta' phase of the site, and we didn't ask proper authorization at the time (which was a mistake)
• when we got to AMIGO to regularize the situation, they quickly answered that they would look into it (and didn't ask us to remove the game while they were considering, which they could have done - we even proposed it at some point and they declined, saying that they would answer soon). They checked carefully, which took some time (as you might imagine they are very busy people), then got back to us to tell us they were not able to give us any rights for an online adaptation of 'Category 5' due to a cooperation agreement on this game with BSW. As a consequence, they asked us to remove the game from our site, while giving us some further delay to do so.

So, as much as I am sad to see this game go, I would like to make it clear that AMIGO has been very kind and professional about our request.
We would be pleased to work with them in the future to publish online versions of other games for which rights may be available.

I should also say that it was the last 'beta phase' game for which we were expecting a definitive answer.
But please also remember that even authorized games on BGA may not be forever : copyright holders can choose to regain their licences at some point (for example if they release an official online version of their game)

Trés sincérement, je n'ai qu'une seule chose à dire.... En ce moment c'est la fête du slip pour les éditeurs.... et les créateurs de jeu... Cela pullule à tir larigot...et je ne parle même pas des adaptations sur tablettes. Ils nous prennent pour des vaches à lait... Le Jeu se démocratise, qu'ils en profitent... Par Contre les gros couillons comme moi qui vont à la boutique régulièrement voir trop souvent, vont commencer à sérieusement réfléchir... Désormais pour jouer à un jeu en ligne, c'est comme au supermarché, c'est la loi du plus grand, du plus gros, du plus beau, et souvent celui qui celui qui avarie le système. Cette Prolifération me fait trop pensait à celui des jeux vidéos, il y a quelques années. Et on en connaît tous le résultat...

it was very cool of them to let you leave it on here while they decided. I won't be going to BSW - it is not a user friendly site IMHO - and this site is very user friendly. So I would agree it makes no sense to try and get people from here to go over there - but I totally understand where they are coming from ( of course being a salesman I think it is a bad business decision but hey what do I know ).

A game I have only played here and enjoyed playing with so many people.

Je voudrais préciser deux points :

• '6 qui prend' est l'un des jeux que nous avions développé pendant la phase 'béta' du site, et nous n'avions pas demandé d'autorisation à l'époque (ce qui était une erreur)
• quand nous avons contacté AMIGO pour régulariser la situation, il nous ont rapidement répondu qu'ils allaient voir ce qu'ils pouvaient faire (et ils ne nous ont pas demandé de suspendre l'accès au jeu pendant qu'ils réfléchissaient, alors qu'ils auraient pu le faire - nous l'avons même proposé à un moment donné, et ils ont décliné en nous disant qu'ils nous répondraient bientôt). Ils ont vérifié soigneusement, ce qui a pris un peu de temps (comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, ils sont très occupés). Ensuite ils sont revenus vers nous pour nous indiquer qu'ils ne pouvaient pas nous donner de droits du fait d'un accord de coopération pour ce jeu avec BSW. En conséquence, ils nous ont demandé de retirer le jeu du site, tout en nous donnant quelques jours de délai pour cela.

Donc, bien que je sois triste que ce jeu quitte le site, je tiens à dire qu'AMIGO a été très professionnel et amical dans le traitement de notre demande.
Nous serions très heureux de travailler avec eux dans le futur pour adapter d'autres jeux pour lesquels les droits seraient disponibles.

J'aimerais également préciser que c'était le dernier jeu de la 'phase béta' du site pour lequel nous attendions une réponse définitive.
Mais rappelez vous tout de même que les jeux autorisés sur BGA ne le seront pas forcément toujours : les ayant droits peuvent décider de reprendre leurs licences dans le futur (par exemple s'ils sortent une version en ligne officielle de leur jeu)
