One point cards no longer break tie?

Did the rules change? How is it possible there was no tiebreaker in this game when I had 7 one point cards compared to the other player only having two. It used to be that would break the tie in favor of the person with the most one blank cards.

I think you're misremembering; they've never broken ties, they give a 3-point bonus for the most. If quantity of 1-point cards is the same for any players then they each get the bonus.

No I am pretty sure this is what the direction say. Here is a copy paste:

"FINAL SCORING

Each player's score is the total of all the points in their scored cards, plus the player with the most 1-point cards gains a bonus 3 points (in case of a 1-point card tie, each tied player gets 3 points)."

Note: I don't know this game very well (played it a few times on BGA a long time ago, that's all), so maybe I'm missing something. But nothing in the game you linked to violates the sentence you've quoted from the rules (which is what the poster you're responding to also said).

The game log clearly states that you got your 3 bonus points from having the most 1-point cards. The game then ended in a tie, 18-18 - so presumably it was 18-15 to your opponent before this bonus was added on.

There doesn't seem to be any tie-break - I don't know the game to know if there "should" be, but nothing in the rule you quoted mentions one.

Quoting from the actual rules (not the "rules summary"):

"Once all players finish their final turns, tally the points on your scored cards."

Angus_Khan: 5×1 + 5×2 + 1×3 = 18
JoysJoy: 6×1 + 3×2 + 1×3 = 15

"Whoever collected the most "1" cards receives a 3-point bonus."

Angus_Khan: 5 "1" cards, +0 points
JoysJoy: 6 "1" cards, +3 points

"(In case of a tie, each tied player receives 3 points.)"

This applies to a tie in the number of "1" cards, not to a tie in total points. There was no tie, so we can ignore. It's useless in 2-player games anyway.

"The player with the most total points is the winner."

Angus_Khan: 18 + 0 = 18
JoysJoy: 15 + 3 = 18

"If 2 or more players tie for the most points, they share the victory."

That's the case here, so the final result is a draw.
