Tash Kalar image resolution upgrade request

Post by Shawn McCool »

Hello, my friends and I quite enjoy your website.

My buddy and I were playing Tash Kalar and we had some recommendations.

Currently, on my monitor it looks like this. https://sc-cdn.scaleengine.net/i/b6cd34 ... e03dc2.png

When I change my browser zoom it looks like this. https://sc-cdn.scaleengine.net/i/687926 ... 4c351c.png

Much nicer, but the cards are still blurry. The play area looks great.

Also, in Tash Kalar we felt that it would be nice to rotate the shapes on the cards to see them better or something. It's hard for us sometimes. Cognitive overhead.

That said, well done.

Hi,
I'm glad you like it.
However, because of the way cards (and graphical elements in general, although to a lesser extent) are drawn and positioned on BGA, it's not easy doing something that scales well. Since the high-res images are already there (for the tooltips) I'll try a quick fix when I get the occasion, but don't raise your hopes too high.

About the shape rotations giving you a headache, well, it's part of the game
I really encourage you to follow Vlaada's advice from the end of the guidebook:
Vlaada wrote:For some players, it may be a problem to match the patterns with the formations on the board.
My advice is: do not compare the card directly with the situation on the board. Instead, take a look at the card and analyze the pattern, so it is easy to memorize. For example, the Knight requires four tokens in an L shape. It is much easier to find an L or mirrored-L shaped group of pieces than a group that matches a certain generic pattern.
Also you can read his detailed descriptions of the beings to help you understand and memorize the patterns:
