Having more of the same colors gives you more flexibility. It also matters what the numbers are if you happen to have 3 colors with 2 cards. If you happen to have 3 9s then you are probably alright. If all your cards are below 7 or 8 you are probably in trouble. Might pull a hand out if you have 3 of the same number. You just don’t want to be in a spot where they can put down 2 cards and you can’t play anything. More than likely I would never finish having 3 colors with 2 cards as my last 6 cards though. Probably only happens if I have something like 999888
If you want to see generally what people do, you can replay games. It’s pretty interesting the style differences even between all the top 10 players. There is a lot to keep track of and understand if you want to be good at this game. I think it’s a lot deeper than it initially appears.
