Who decides what games are added to the site

I was searching where I could put my suggestion for new games but didnt find it on the site. I'm aware such feature would only get spammed with all kinds of suggestions and be of no use.

but some kind of voting poll each month for the most suggested games perhaps?

So my question is who decides new game on this site, what is the process?

All games are coded by volunteers. Therefore, whatever they decide to implement is what gets added to the site (assuming the game's rights holder grants permission).

Far from parenthetical, this is the most important part of it. It doesn't matter how badly people want it and whether there is an army of devs willing to work on it, nothing happens without permission.

The idea that there are award winning games out there that BGA doesn't have simply because not enough people have voted for them seems a bit naïve to me. Oh that obscure game "Cascadia"? Never heard of it. Maybe you should post that in the Games Wanted thread so it won't be overlooked. /sarcasm

Not all developers are (unpaid) volunteers. Some developers are paid. I guess it's the publisher/designer who hires a developer to put the game in BGA. I don't think BGA pays any developer directly.

Check with a publisher. Publishers publish games (into the world, generally in physical form). Developers code a game (for digital release, either here or elsewhere).

And therefor own the rights to implement it in other forms (generally speaking). That's why it's the publisher you need to ask for permission.

To be more precise, the publisher does not always hold the rights for digital rights, it depends on the contract they made with the game designer or sometimes they sold the exclusive digital rights to another studio (for a steam adaptation for instance), but they will probably be able to give you insights about who currently holds them (but sometimes it's a mess, which explain why some games were removed from bga after a while like points salad or equinox)

BGA is actually paying developpers directly sometimes. I would even guess that it represents the majority of paid developpments

I still don't understand why there are just couple of dozen active BGA developers, not thousands. It's so easy: just learn to code and go! There are thousands of games in the BGA Studio licences list!
