Auto Start in Arena Mode?

I started looking for an opponent but got distracted, the game started automatically (without my knowledge) and I ended up getting a penalty for not playing the game. Yet I just started another game and then got an opponent but had to wait for them to accept the game (as you would do in standard mode). So why didn't they automatically get added to the game like I was?

When this happens it is a display glitch (that seems to be happening more frequently recently). You do not get to decline an Arena game.

Thanks for the reply. Typical, the glitch doesn't happen when I inadvertently don't play a game and I get penalised

Just further on this, have notifications on new games starting disappeared?

Twice today I have sat for 10 minutes waiting for a game and each time I've not been actively watching the screen for just a minute or two I have been penalised for missing games.

Also, people who expel you rather than mutually finish the game suck!

No skin off their nose. Can't always sit for 10 minutes staring at a screen and doing nothing.
