Ticket to Ride Europe ELO scoring

Ok this is really p!ssing me off. wtf. I lost four and lost 30,21,33, and 26 rank points. I won one game and I got 7 rank points. In other words I need to be near perfect just to break into the top 100? what the F@ck. and go ahead and ding me all you want. I just about done with this

As opposed to when you win and get 35 or 29 points? And lose only 8 or even just 1? A quick skim at your history shows those happen too. Who you're paired against matters. If you're paired against an easy win you don't get much for winning and lose a lot for losing. If you're paired against a hard win you gain a lot for winning and lose little for losing.

Keep in mind it only gets harder the higher your rating gets, the players in the top 100 have it much worse, that's why they're ranked in the top 100 in the first place.

Hey Ceaseless, Thank you a lot for taking the time to reply. I went back over my last 10 games (posted below) and it showed me something but still leaves me with a few questions. I didn't see any game where I only lost 1 point but maybe I need to go back further. I didn't realize I had won a game and received 30 points.

What I still don't understand is how people get into the top 50/25/ or even 10. At that point it seems like you could only be getting 4-5 points per win, which means your winning percentage would need to be around 80-85%. Which would make it quite an impressive feet. However, even with people who have ELO rankings in the top 10 I don't feel like I remember them having 80-85 winning percentages. Maybe my math is wrong. Maybe my memory is wrong when it comes to the players ranked in the top 10. Maybe part of what getting into the top 10 requires is a streak with some luck. I supposed luck is a bigger variable in some games more than others.

The profiles of second, third, and fourth place in Arena from their Ticket to Ride Europe games. I didn't list first since they commonly played outside of Arena, making it harder to see their arena scoring specifically.

I wish I knew what the Arena formula was, I know they give it for typical elo, but I don't know the method they use for arena specifically. The FAQ implies it's similar in the highest league, but I don't know how similar.

I think the k-coefficient is greater in Arena, maybe 40+ instead of 20.

There is little luck involved in being at the top of arena ranking: try to watch some of the top rated players and learn from them. A top player would probably have more than 95% winrate against the typical 100 Elo player. You don't see such winrates on profiles because they generally engage in a lot of high level tournaments and/or casual games with other high rated players, games with higher player count, etc
