Option to hide friend activity from game log

Could there be an option button in Friends, whether you want friends to appear on the games log? Friends appearing on the games log can be a distraction and it is difficult to search for game related actions as well.

It is especially hard to read the game log in a turn based game when all you see is:

X is offline
Y is online
X is online
Y is offline
X is online
X is offline
Y is online
X is online
Y is offline
X is online
X is offline

Y is offline

This official webiste suggestion/bug report is over four years old. Is it really that hard to implement such a simple option, with this much demand for it?
