Contract Bridge is now in beta!

Post by ufm »

Contract bridge is a trick-taking card game using a standard playing card deck. Four players form two partnerships, sit facing each other.
Each player may bid a number of tricks to take in excess of six, and a trump suit which would be the highest suit.
The highest bidder becomes the declarer when all other players consecutively pass.
After the first card is played, the declarer's partner opens all cards in hand face-up.
The revealed cards are played by the declarer. The declarer side scores points according to the number of tricks they took.

This implementation supports Chicago, Rubber Bridge, Single Dummy Honeymoon Bridge, and Solitaire Bridge.

Hi! Thank you for developing contract bridge, I have been wanting to learn for years.
Are there any plans to add a full scoring log? It would help new learners like me a lot.

You can check the rules link from the game page

Each hand displays a score summary at the end of the hand.
Also, you can read the tutorial from the game page as well.

You wind up playing with really good players in their first game on BGA :D

Bridge, like Chess, probably will never take off on BGA. There already are chess-dedicated and bridge-dedicated websites that have a better implementation than BGA ever will have.

For example, "proper" serious Bridge uses some form of duplicate scoring, which can't work due to the way BGA scores games.
