Help with translation

Post by BuddaBruda »

Curryently translating the last bits into German, but I have no idea how to translate 'trait grail requirement'. Is there another meaning for the term 'grail' apart from the object i.e. the holy grail? Because if not, I have no idea what that is supposed to mean and think, that 'trait requirement' would suffice just fine.

Hope someone knows more on that matter.

You may check here: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/de/wor ... isch/grail and here: https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries. ... lish/grail, so also "something that people want and are looking for but that is difficult to find or get"

According to the tutorial, in this game a trait grail is a request to collect icons of a specific type. I'd suggest to translate it as "Auftrag", because that's the expression generally used for this game element. And for "trait grail requirement" I'd translate according to the context, maybe "Bedingung für die Erfüllung des Auftrags".

Language is a source of misunderstanding. (Antoine de Saint-Exupery: The Little Prince) But it is also the source of understanding - it all depends on how you use it. :-)
