Premium subscription price update (July 1st 2025)

I think you should inform the price in dollars, even to other countries. I was told I would pay $180 but that wasn't true because the currency difference was charged of me, so I payed more and taxes. So the price is in dollars and we are charged according to the payment day currency, also there are taxes, so we need to be informed that it's an international payment. The information must be more clear, it's a legal matter.
This increase looks small in dollar but when we convert to reais is a big difference. One more reason to inform the price in dollar because if the rate increase I will pay even more.

$42.00 a year to be able to play games 24 hours a day/365 days a year; $3.50 a month? Well worth it. When I first found BGA I was amazed it was so inexpensive compared to other gaming sites (tabletopia/steam).

I have barely used the platform since I went premium, and it's because of the experience. This price change, even tho it's not bank-breaking, it will definitely make me cancel my subscription.

It's weird that I need to download an extension in order to make this website have a proper Dark Mode to not burn my eyes with the horrible bright wood background and the blue on white text. You guys sell this service as one that works in all devices, and it's kinda true; yea, I can open BGA on an iPad, but actually playing games is another thing. Most of them are not really playable on anything other than a web browser on a PC. And, do you know what I also have on my PC? Tabletop Simulator and the official digital ports of games I love.

From what I've read in other posts, there are zero intentions to overhaul the experience on the website for us players because it would be too much to go back and program the games in a more modern language than HTML and JavaScript. You guys keep adding games; the games are buggy, crude representations of the tabletop experience which work on a clunky browser platform that is only really usable on a PC... and I just don't see the value of paying 25% more, for whatever you guys claim you're doing "behind the scenes".

Just wanted to let you know that auto-renewing a subscription after a price increase without obtaining explicit consent is not allowed under German consumer protection law.

Disney+ tried to do the same thing and they were legally challenged for it. According to German civil law (§308 Nr. 5 BGB), any contractual price change must be communicated clearly and requires the customer's explicit agreement before renewal. Merely notifying users is not enough.

I propose that a nominal fee of 1 euro per year be implemented for all users of this platform. Given that there are reportedly 10,577,000 registered players, such a fee could significantly enhance the financial sustainability of the platform.

the main justification seems to be adding more games, not necessarily improving the overall user experience. I understand the need to cover costs and license fees for new titles, but let’s be honest: the interface still lags behind, and key features that users have requested for years are missing.

I fully agree. I' prefer a stable and userfriendly interface over adding several new games each week.
