Shared information stalling/guessing issue

Post by luisalacet »

In a 2 player BGA game both players have access to the same information about the same code, meaning that if you assume the other player can make all the logical deductions you made yourself the best play on the end game is always to stall by asking questions you know for sure wont give your opponent info or if there are not that many possible options left guess randomly between them. I feel like this problem could be easily fixed by having both players not share info avoiding a final game state where every number is fully red from stall guesses, or one where the winner was decided by a 1 in 3 guess.

Yes, I agree this is a huge problem for this game.
Another way to fix the problem is to give the possibility to the other player to give a code after one player found it.
If both players find it, they win together!

I like Camel60's idea of winning together on the last turn with everyone who gets it right. I feel like a jerk doing stalling guesses while my opponent generates information that helps both of us but if you don't do stalling guesses then you lose.

Just adding a +1 to this. They did the same thing with Orapa Mine and it's such an odd decision. I wish we at least had an option to hide the information gained from the question (or even the question itself) just to make it more like an actual versus game.

+1! This is definitely a bad architectural decision. A game between good players can turn into a circus.

+1, we were immediately disappointed by this implementation and abandoned the game.
I was originally drawn to the game for its versus mode - as is in the box!
This is such a weird implementation.
