Exactly, it's super strong, that's delta cards in general in 2p situations. In my scenario by Gen 10 I have about 100 in cash, 30 or so in titanium, enough heat to end on my command and card draw. You are done.

Probably one of if not the strongest card to be played gen 1 in a HU game. Not sure what these other guys are rambling about.

It is simple math. 6 mc swing gen 1 averages 60 - 16 mc a game, but it’s 30 less in opp cost for your opponent which is stronger than just having a +44 card.

You can’t argue simple math. Hackers is also up there as one of the deadliest gen 1 HU plays but the value is far less.

Everything else after is situational. You cannot “force tempo” if asteroid mining is played on you gen 1 to overcome. It’s just a massive disadvantage to any player who gets hit with it.

pretty terrible posting, do not follow this advice.

Maybe you should not leave out that AMC is highly situational - probably in 90% of the games it is not playable gen1.

Is any card played gen 1 more than 10% of the time? No card is likely to be in the starting hand(s) more than 10% of the time.

You really don't get the point or you are making a joke?

Lulz, I won’t entertain this with a thorough response. Again, basic math cannot be argued against.

It was partly a joke, for sure, because I think I know what you meant, even though it wasn't phrased in the most clear manner. And I did not want to make assumptions about what you were saying :)

Were you trying to say, "It's not played gen 1 in 90% of the situations in which the card is in one player's hand in gen 1" ?

If that is what you were saying, yes, obviously, because the requirements are not met.

But if one player in a 2-player game has the card gen 1 and each player has titanium, yes, it's getting played. Unless there is some other Gen 1 card that is more important, such as ... ?

I have troubles to recall when there was the last time when I saw a brutal AMC being played in 2p.

Cards that give titanium production gen1: (current Arena)
Point Luna
Saturn Systems
Galilean Mining
Orbital Construction Yard
Metals Company
IO Research Outpost
Space Elevator
Phobos Space Haven
Asteroid Mining
Vesta Shipyard
Mining Rights
Mining Area
IO Mining Industries
Strip Mine
Titanium Mine
Fuel Factory

Cards that give titanium production gen1 and that I actually want to play gen1 and mostly will play gen1:

Point Luna
Metals Company
Mining Rights
Titanium Mine

Cards that give titanium production gen1 and that I will play situational gen1:

(orbital construction yard)
(Space Elevator)
(Mining Area)
(IO Mining Industries)
(Strip Mine)
(Fuel Factory)

Both me and my opponent need one of those cards and we need AMC in play. How often will that happen?

Hackers is 3 to play 3 to buy, and 11 for sp power gen 1 for a cost of 17 credits, with those 17 credits having an inflation adjusted value of 44 credits by game’s end in an 11 gen game. Over 10 generations of production, adjusting for inflation rate each gen, it will produce 32 end game credits worth of value while also scoring a negative point and costing at least 1 more point from a missing heat bump. Hackers not only never returns its original investment value in an 11 gen 1v1 game, but it also scores -2 points in that time span. Hackers is, without question, one of the mathematically worst plays that can be made in the game of TfM. Even if we assume a cost of 13 and getting a cheap power to turn it on it’s still 33 credits in end game value made as the original investment and it’s never recouped.

AMC is the complete opposite end of the spectrum and can be a devastating gen 1 play that wins games outright. Hackers as a gen 1 play is generically about the worst of possible plays that can be made, fighting for maximal inefficiency alongside such plays as Heat Trappersing yourself or playing Indentured Workers into passing the gen or Energy Tapping yourself.
