Custom Rules

Post by Gratcho »

Heya

Loving Heat with my board gaming group for when we can't meet in person.

We do like extended campaigns though, with more customisation.

I assume it is not possible to add in unofficial custom rules, like championship length (play each track X times), or bonus points for whoever achieved the highest speed each race, and more deck customisation options (such as bid championship points for upgrades)?

No it's not. BGA implementations follow the rules given by the publisher, and we cannot create house rules without publisher's validation.

That is exactly what I thought, thanks for the reply.

We'll have to save those for in person gaming then!

Hello BGA.

I understand adding rules and customization is not possible as per the publisher rules, but I wonder if some options could be still added without being against the official rules:

1) Determining the grid order in single race. With 8 cars now, grid position becomes more important to reach the 1st corner.
2) Adding Event cards and/or Sponsor cards to single race.

Also, there is Custom Championship mode indicated in the rulebook that is missing on BGA, where you can choose the tracks and Event cards. Adding the option could resolve the point 2) above, by choosing a track for a one race championship. Event and Sponsor cards would then be available to play with.

Any chance this could happen?

I would still love the option to play a GOAT championship according to the rulebook.
Playing multiple seasons, carrying over 1 upgrade from last season.
