Adversary skipped my turn on completed game

Following the end game trigger by the other player, a went slightly over my allotted time while playing my last turn. I understand that I should respect my time limit, but found it awkward, if not outright rude, to have my turn skipped while I'm actively making selections to complete my last turn. Given that there was no communication from the other player, it felt like this was done out of fear for losing the game. The following generated message is also strange as it shows the game was 100% completed and the log clearly shows I ended my turn, yet my turn was still skipped.

The player who left (or was skipped) lost the game and got a ☯ penalty.
The other players won this game and get 100% of normal ELO points (because 100% of this game was played before the incident).

While I'll watch my time more carefully, I think there should be some wiggle room on the last turn, especially since this is not a tournament game. Based on the final score, I would have still lost (by a single point!) and deserved the time penalty, but I feel my turn should not have been skipped.

I know it's frustrating to have this happen. Part of competitive play is being able to complete your moves in the allotted time, which in this case was at 1:33 per turn with a maximum time bank of 4 minutes. That's quite a bit of time, really, even for a complex turn.

That being said, outside of arena it is perhaps a bit antisocial to immediately jump on the clock like that. Since it's a legal move, though, I suggest two things for you: 1) Play at the slower pace until you get comfortable at the game, and 2) red thumb the player so you don't play with them again.

It's frustrating, but look at it from this point view: you failed to finish your turn in the available time (+20 seconds), and you lost. It doesn't matter it was the final turn or that you needed only a couple more seconds.

For the record, the "100%" is just the "game progression" computed by the adaptation code, it does not say anything about whether the game is actually over or not. For ArkNova, we compute game progression by taking min(highest score, 100), so as soon as someone hits 100, it will be displayed as 100% game progression eventhough the game is not over yet.

Thank you all for your replies. I was simply frustrated given that I’m lenient towards other players who slightly exceed their time.

For what it's worth,it would be nice if the skip button wasn't in quite such a prominent,in-your-face position.

I mean, if this was chess. You'd be automatically lost the game when the timer hit 0.
