Rules for Card Ranchers Summer 2025 League.
This competition starts June 22.
We will play 4 games each Sunday at 7pm UTC. All games will be set to 3 rounds, 5 players/Tactics/Pro, normal speed. The competition is restricted to good and above players. 2-player teams.
The competition will be 4 weeks long. There are two phases each week.
Phase 1: Playing 6 Nimmt games on Sundays.
Each Sunday you compete on 6 Nimmt tables to win fence, hay, and 6 different breeds (colors) of cows in your games.
One player of your team will compete for, white cows (game 1), yellow cows (game 2), red cows (game 3), and fence (game 4).
Your other player will compete for blue cows (game 1), brown cows (game 2), black cows (game 3), and hay (game 4).
On games played for cows, teams will get; 2 large cows (first place), 2 medium cows (second place), 1 medium cow (third place), and 1 calf (fourth place)
On games played for resources, first and second place gain 2 resources each, and third and fourth place gain 1 resource each.
Each week when the games are over, two checks will be made. 1) that you have enough fenced land to support your herd, and 2) that you have enough hay to feed your herd. Being short of either will result in loss of cows, which will be explained in phase 2.
How to win
Each week the 3 leading teams of each color will gain points. To determine leaders of each color, the value of your cows are totaled. Bulls and large cows = 3 each, medium cows = 2 each, and calves = 1 each.
The first week, the leader in each color gains 3 points, second place gains 2 point, and third gains 1 point. These points are increased by 1 each week. There will be a lot of ties for these positions. Teams involved in ties will each get the full amount of points for the given position. There will also be points at the end of 4 weeks for extra hay and fence, and each cow on your ranch.
The team scores and herds will be posted by Monday each week.
Phase 2: Ranch Management.
Between Monday and Wednesday, your team will select actions from the following chart.

The 3 leading teams must choose 4 different actions from the left green column, and the 2 trailing teams must choose 4 actions from the right green column. The leading teams are determined by team scores, and may change each week. If teams are tied in points, the lead is determined by, most hay, then most fence/land, then most number of cows.
The Chart.
Actions near the top are done first, so you can afford other actions. Each action explained:
“Sell at top price” You may sell several of your large cows for 3 coins each. You are limited to the number shown in your column.
“Sell large cows” You may sell more than the limit allowed for "top price", or if you have already chosen “top price”, you may sell additional large cows for 2 coins each.
“Sell medium cows” Sell as many medium cows as you like for 2 coins each.
“Gain 2 coins” Gain 2 coins.
“Buy a calf” You may choose a calf of any color, for free or at a cost of 1 coin, according to the column you are allowed to choose from.
“Buy 1 hay” You may gain a single hay for 1 coin.
“Buy X hay” You may buy any number of hay you can afford, for 2 coins each, or 3 coins each, according to your column.
“Buy 1 fence” You may gain a single fence for 1 coin.
“Buy X hay” You may buy any number of fence you can afford for 2 coins each.
“Gain points” Gain the number of points shown, and add it to your team’s score.
Raising cows.
There are 3 sizes of cows in each color, that can be won from games on Sundays; large, medium, and calves. Medium cows and calves mature to the next bigger size when games begin on Sundays. Bulls can only be added to your ranch by selecting “Buy a Bull” during the ranch management phase. Teams may buy a different color bull each week. When playing for cows, if you have a bull of that color, you might win extra calves. If you get first, you will get 2 calves along with your cows. If you get second or third, you will gain 1 calf along with your cow(s).
Fences/Land
Your ranch starts with 2 fenced acres. Whenever you get 3 fence, it is automatically converted into a new fenced acre. Each acre can support 1-6 cows. Each additional acre will increase your max capacity by 6 cows. You must have enough fenced acres to support your cows when games are finished on Sunday. If you don't have enough fenced area for your cows, then 1/2 of the cows you don’t have room for are eaten by wolves (rounded up).
Hay
You start with 2 hay. Each hay will feed 1-6 cows, and then it is consumed. Cows will eat hay immediately when games are finished on Sundays. If your team doesn’t have the hay required, then 1/2 of your “unfed” cows will starve (rounded up). Example: When the games end, you have enough fenced acres for your 10 cows, however you only have 1 hay. So, 6 of your cows are fed, but the other 4 are hungry, you will lose 2 of those 4 to starvation.
So try to have enough hay and fenced acres to accommodate all the cows you have, and the cows you might win on the tables. When cows are lost, your smallest cows will be lost first, starting with calves. The color chosen will be from your smallest herd color first, and if that is even they are lost in this order: black, brown, blue, red, yellow, white.
End of Competition
The competition will take 4 weeks. Extra hay will be converted to 1 point each.
Your team must have 6 fields by the final week. You will get -1 points for each fence you are short of that goal.
After the points are awarded for leading positions in all colors, each cow on your ranch will add a point to your final score.
