I am confused by all of this...After the last agenda card is done, will the game be in public alfa and does this mean that I (a non testing noob) will be able to play? Sorry, I dont know how things work. I am new to everything, the game, the site and pretty much to board gaming

Once the last agenda card is done, then the developer will submit it to be in public alpha and then games can be started by those who have met the requirements to review alpha games (anyone can be invited into these games who has a BGA account usually). Once it gets enough approvals it will enter public beta where anyone can create a game. After it gets enough approvals in beta, then it will be released and have an announcement on the main page. In my opinion, if you are new to everything you should wait for that announcement.

Since you said you are new to everything, this game is one of the longer games out there (it typically lasts at least an hour per player, so a standard 6 player game takes at least 6 hours to get through in person, it may take less here with things automated but if you play asynchronously it may take much longer). If you are not familiar with the game, the alpha/beta phase of the game is not the best time for you to discover the game since there may be bugs in the game (rules not enforced correctly, buttons not working, etc.) and that may be confusing to you. The point of having games in alpha and beta are so that people who are familiar with the rules can make sure that they are enforced properly so that the game can be released to the general public here with rules enforced. This is NOT the typical length of a board game, but many people feel that the length is worth the time (as evidenced by the pages upon pages of people wanting to play this game even when it is not fully complete). This game has a large online following and there is a Tabletop Simulator version of the game and you can also play the game asynchronously via Discord (but the rules are typically not enforced so it would be difficult to learn the game via online unless you knew people who were interested in teaching you-I'm not a real part of either online community, so I cannot say how they are to new players but I have played both versions of the game and prefer the asynchronous one because it's easier to play a game that lasts this long over many asynchronous turns rather than all at once).

I hope that helps.

Thx for the explanation. It makes more sense now. I am somewhat familiar with the rules and I have tried a learning round on Discord but it was too chaotic since it is asynchronous. But I just wanted to try it here, don't know why...I know that this is not a typical game but I found it cool and very interesting. I tried Catan and Cthulhu irl and I found them utterly boring and bland compared to this

You will be able to try it eventually! Maybe in a few months though. In the meantime, you can work on familiarizing yourself with other games on BGA; welcome to the community!

Thanks to those who helped answer.

Ixthian Artifact is nearly done, but I still have to run some tests before I can call it ready.

I finished testing and deployed a build with Ixthian Artifact. This completes all base game effects and the 6 beginner factions. The remaining factions are intended for development during public alpha / beta.

However, it is now up to BGA, so we will see if they have more requirements before public alpha.

This is fantastic. You are an amazing person. I don't think I'll get to play Alpha but I can't wait until it hits Beta. This was soooo much work I am sure and this community owes you a debt of gratitude.
