last arena season not updated?

abra chadabra, new season arena
I have only recently started playing abra chadabra and have sufficient ELO to join arena games. of course i am in bronze league. Am surprised to see lots of players in the elite league still; was there no relegation from elite at the end of the last season to the next league down? not sure if this applies to other games too?

I believe games released less than 1 month before the end of the season don't have a season reset and just continue as it was.
