Adding a game forum

Post by keybounce »

Right now, I can only see forums for games that I have *actually* played. Games that I'm waiting for, have tried to play in, etc, are not shown.

Given that I'd like to be able to do things like post "when can someone play" for these less-commonly played games, how can I access their forums?

At the top of the list of games on the forum there is a button "show me all games" or something of that like.

There is a link to every game's forum on that game's lobby page.

Instead of asking in the forum (some might call it spamming), you could activate the bell icon on the game page for one of these less-commonly played games. You will then get a toaster notification if someone is looking for players in this game.

Except that I can only do that for *3* games. And the less-commonly-played games may *say* "20 minutes", the reality may be an hour or more.

EDIT: Worse, someone else has to create a game. If there are 10 of us that are interested in a game, but no one starts it (remember that limit of 3?), then no game forms even if there are enough players.

And, I have *twice* now had a game skull start up, get 2 or 3 people, and then they left because we did no get enough for the desired game size. So, yea, there can be a need to plan/schedule a get-together time.

Another suggestion: Make BGA friends with people who like the same games and try to start a game when you are online together.

Another area to find another player when 1 short. Is to ask in the general chat. 1 more needed and post your table. Get used to players coming and going in the game lobby. Many join. Don't like something or the wait. Even a minute is too long for some. And they leave. Same for those lesser played games. Try general chat. Someone else may want to try and only see it in chat.

Yes, but the general chat is a premium feature only.

Can you walk me through the mechanical steps of how to do this?

Equally, what about if none of the people I play with want to chat at the game table? I occasionally get chat after the game, not during.

Ok, I used that, and posted a message on the Terraforming Mars forum. However, that still does not result in that forum being shown for me by default. How would I add that to my default list of forums?

The one way the works for sure is to play that game and complete it. I just tested that merely doing the tutorial doesn't work.
