I've noticed since a long time that BGA facebook requests were slowing down page loadings (plus, I live in the deep countryside so I have a slow internet connection
).
I installed a Chrome extension which blocks facebook/google/twitter requests on wanted pages and I saw a clear speed increase !
I had an average of 7.4 seconds to load http://fr.boardgamearena.com/#!gamelist the extension disabled, and 3.9 with the extension enabled
To load http://fr.boardgamearena.com/#!competition, I had 6.4 seconds which decreased to 4.2.
That's about 25 to 50% speed increase.
On some other websites it goes to 100% speed increase and more. Why I didn't figure out this sooner ?
