quit game penalty ???

I was in a TTR game when a person was expelled. I then clicked on the quit to "withdraw without penalty. However, I was penalized -10 point for quitting. Is there a special way to quit after the game has been ended due to "som,eone" elase quitting. RICH41

It's better if you show the table:

https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=699776144 You were expelled right at the beginning, you didn't even take the first turn.

Things that may confuse you:
* You usually get the notice about quitting penalties some time after the game involved, often after you've already played another game.
* If you have connection issues, it may seem to you that it's another player's turn, but it is in fact your turn. When you see nothing happening for a while, it's wise to reload, in case it's actually your turn.
