Starting a game with fewer players?

Post by keybounce »

Lets say I'm looking at a game that is 3 to 6 players. And while I tried to make a game for 4, I only got three (myself and two others). Is there a way to start the game with just the three that are there, or are we forced to wait and see if a 4th will ever show?

If it matters, the game in question is "Skull".

The answer is "yes" if you create the table from the Play Now lobby. Someone else can answer if there is another way to do it.

... if it's real-time, I don't think you can in turn-based, and that's only fair.

Are you trying to start a real time game or a turn-based game? As Jellby said it probably won't work for turn-based because there is no "accept" button for turn-based games and you should not be able to change the format without everyone's consent.

Real Time.

I cannot find a way to change the options once I create a room

You don't need to change the number of players, but the option to do so is right next to the words "Number of players" above the row listing you as a player.

In the example shown, I have it configured for 6 players, but as soon as at least two others join (so we meet the minimum of 3 allowed by the game), the button that says "Start game (Not enough players)" will turn blue and simply say "Start game." If you click on it you will see a confirmation screen to accept playing the game as configured.
