Not only is this tiebreaker moronic, it would be so easy to fix. There are so many easy alternatives:

Most potions created
Most potions saved
least helps used
Allow you to use whatever unused potions you have before selecting your tiebreaker so there is actual play required
Just call it a tie

I just played a very interesting game that ended up in a tie breaker. Once my opponent pulled (and got ridiculously lucky with a pull of 8 that was completely off the board), there was ZERO chance, even if I got unbelievably lucky to tie or win. Why even bother?! It completely ruins what would have been an otherwise cool game.

And I don't care if the developer doesn't approve the change. Pull the game completely if they don't fix it.

Every time I play this game and it gets to a tiebreaker, my heart sinks. It actually takes skill to play this game, but the tiebreaker is completely thoughtless. No skill, no reflection of your performance during the game.

The designer of this game clearly didn't think the tiebreaker was an important part of the game. But it is and every tied game is an unpleasant experience. Please implement a different tiebreaker. ANY -- LITERALLY ANY -- of the proposals in the previous messages would be more satisfying than the current tiebreaker.

It is the worst one because it's not even NEEDED in this game-- First, as u say that it is okay to have a tie in such family games; then, commonly that won't even appeared. once you failed to finish all ur current potions for 1 round more than your opponents, you definitely lose the game. At least it is is what I've been through.
bga should kill this rules forever and dump it into the deepest *.

**Moderator edit: please refrain from swearing on BGA, this is a family-friendly platform.

Putting aside the disgustingly inappropriate language in your response (which you'd better change now before it gets reported), the developers do not have the option to implement rules that deviate from the rules approved by the game's rights holder. Usually those are the published rules. Occasionally an unpublished variant is implemented (to remove powerful birds in Wingspan and to prohibit hoarding pearls in Splendor Duel, for example), but it is done with the permission of the game's rights holder. BGA is not authorized to simply make up house rules no matter how badly they may be needed or the players want it.

Really hope the publisher and right holder of this game can see this, That tie-breaker rule is the biggest flop Ive ever seen in the game.
(btw I don't know what did the last person said, But they failed to edit their messages earlier and were already moderated.)

I haven’t read all the replies here, and maybe this was already mentioned but I agree with the unfairness of the current tie break as I have just had my second occurrence of a tie break in a tournament where we have both pulled the same amount of marbles and BGA just literally picks a person at random (it seems) who will go through to the next round when it is a single elimination tournament. The first time I was kicked out, and the second I made it through, but I bet the other player was dismayed. For a tournament that kicks you out for a loss when it’s a straight up tie, that’s extra crappy. Agree that this needs to be overhauled.

It's worse than random. At least that would give everyone an equal chance. Instead, it advances the oldest BGA accounts.
