Is it my problem that I get angry every time I play Catan?

Maybe it's because I play too poorly. Every time my roads and resources are stolen, I'm so angry! So angry!

Yes it is. This is part of the game, it is a mix of co-operation and competition. Maximising use of your resources includes stealing from others and blocking moves.

If you find this makes you angry, it might be better to look into games that focus more on multiplayer solitaire, where stealing and blocking don't form part of the core game play.

None of this means you're bad or playing poorly. Indeed regularly having resources stolen from you probably means you're playing well and others are trying to slow down your march to victory.

I get mad playing too between a combination of:

A) Having the best placement on the board but losing because the dice rolls never follow probability and never make sense,

B) The prevalent culture of players blocking you, robbing your best tile continuously, building pointlessly over-long roads, and just playing mean in general.

Mad at the tech or mad at people, it's the reality of living in an online obsessed cuture. Nothing is fun anymore either on this site or social media. Hardly anybody wants to cooperate to make it an enjoyable game for all. We're all pitted against each other.

sometimes I get into a keyboard smashing RAGE over this game. it can be very, very frustrating. I see many other people get angry too. Every game there's AT LEAST ONE person in a rage. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

Catan is a game I like to play because I enjoy the competition even when I lose. Luck is a big factor, and it's fun to try and build your settlements!

you are right, sometimes we don't see any single 8 or 6 in a game which is very much irritating as the odds of 8 and 6 are highest. I think there is some problem in programming from the developers end.

The chance of a game with either zero 6s or zero 8s is around 0.5%
That's one in every 200 games. It's not that rare considering a total of 5.5million Catan games have been played on BGA.

You've just proved their point that a game where absurd RNG happens decently often is triggering for a substantial portion of the player base.
