I’m organizing a friendly competition to test out a new championship format I’ve come up with. This event is open to everyone and will be played in real time.
Format
The competition will consist of 6 rounds.
Each round will feature games with pools of 6 players, or as evenly balanced as possible (e.g., for 14 players: 5-5-4 instead of 6-6-2).
In each game, players will select 4 riders.
Pools will be randomly drawn before each round.
Since it's a real-time competition, finding a common time for 6 players can be challenging. Each pool will need to coordinate to find the best time to play their game. Ideally, we aim to play one game per week so that the whole tournament doesn't exceed 6 weeks.
Scoring System
Players will earn championship points based on their performance in each round:
Based on final race position:
1st = 12 pts, 2nd = 11 pts, ..., 12th = 1 pt.
Bonus medals:
Climber Medal = 5 pts
Sprinter Medal = 5 pts
Winning Medal = 8 pts
Best Manager Medal = 10 pts
The maximum score per round is 70 points, for a perfect game.
At the end of the championship, players will be ranked based on their total accumulated points.
