game ended abruptly...frustrating

Post by ladeer »

https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=707062826

i was just playing by myself since my opponent ended his game a while ago. i got a new civ that required opponent's interaction, then the game immediately ended saying opponent conceded (probably because he wasn't there to interact). this ended the game right away i couldn't see my final score, which was very sad.

i don't think this is a bug, but just a limitation of the platform where it can't possibly continue the game at that point. i wonder if this happens a lot.

Watched a replay of your game. It either was a bug that the program could not handle that you used Inventors to upgrade opponents Assembly line or your opponent conceded right at that time.
It is a (Bad?) habit of some players to concede after they finished their game. If you want to concede, do it while you are active playing. But I think conceding after finishing is a sign of a sore looser. The winner might want to see if something works or is chasing a personal record. If the looser wants to save the winner some time, concede earlier and/or ask if the winner is ok with you conceding.

once a person finishes the last income turn, why is "concede" even available? or better, the game should just let me finish regardless whether the opponent concedes. when opponents abandons game, i can still finish and get as many points as i want in a regular games.

when my opponent is winning and playing, after i already finished my last income time, i remember seeing the "leave the table" button. there is no concede button.

in fact, i don't think this was a player initiated concede because the concede happened instantly after i upgraded his card. it's probably just a design flaw where if the opponent is required to do something during the end game phase but the opponent had left the table, the game would stop working.
