SUMMER OF GAMES 2025: Ahoy!

Post by DrClick »

Games and... games!
Welcome to the new 2025 Summer Calendar!

Starting on the 1st of August, on the menu, the usual calendar but integrated into the brand new home page, for the next 31 days: each day a new game to discover.

For newcomers:
On the home page, just below the new releases, you'll see a 31-day calendar, with a box for each days. From 1st of August to the 31th of August, you can click on the box of the day to discover... the release of the day!

There are independent games, surprises, and also the usual Monday and Wednesday releases.

How to explore?
Each day, click the box for that day’s treasure.
And by "each day", we mean "Every 24h there's a new box to open". And you cannot win a trophy by opening any treasure you open too late. One click, every days. That's why these trophies are some the most difficult to get. And why they're so valuable.

Earn trophies along the way:
Open the first day’s box to instantly win a unique Summer trophy.
Visit daily to unlock more exclusive badges.

The ultimate challenge: Open all 31 days consecutively to claim the hardest-to-earn badge! (Miss a day? You can still grab the others.)

Time zone note: The calendar follows Paris time (CEST / UTC+2), so be sure to click before the next day’s tide rolls in!

There are a total of 4 limited trophies to win, and it's not an easy challenge.

- One for the first daily box you click-open.

- One for a 10 days streak (opened a box EVERY days for 10 days straight - not forgetting a single one)
Image

- One for a 20 days streak (We told you it's hard, because you also have to click it over the week-end ^^)
Image

- The legendary one, 31 days, every day for a month, you clicked on the new game release from the calendar: It's the hardest one to achieve, and one to brag about.

It's a hard challenge, but you can also simply enjoy the daily releases included - they are all original games that deserves this time of the year to be enjoyed.

Why join?
It’s not just a list of releases – it’s a month-long voyage of discovery, packed with games, surprises, and collectible treasures for dedicated explorers.

Ready to set sail? Click the boxes, claim your loot, and join us for an epic month of games!

Also, note that the current day is set at Paris time (CEST/UST +2). Earlier for some, later for others.

A great way to gamify game releases during a sunny, festive period (depending on where you are in the world, of course).
That's all there is to it. You can find the list of games released in this post, which will be updated regularly.

Thanks for pointing out exactly where it is, so at least we will avoid (maybe) the perennial complaint that people couldn't find the calendar. Of course, at least one person is going to whine that they didn't see this thread and missed a day or didn't know what time the day changes (0000 UTC+2) because....there's always one.

I'm not sure if I understand. I've found the calendar, I've clicked it, I've got the archievement already. Then I've played Beer and Bread. And nothing else happened. So I don't need to play the games that are announced at all? Just log in every day?

@Skrybowiedzma: you have to click on the latest treasure every day. This means you have to visit the main page every day, and not miss a day if you want to get the achievements.

Playing the daily game has no particular effect on the achievements - it is not required.

I see :( I think it would be much more fun if there was an archievement for playing (or maybe even winning) a particular game on a particular day, rather than just visiting the main page. For now, it's hard to find a real-time table for Beer and Bread, I'm really not sure if it being in the calendar had any effect at all in people's will/ability to discover this game.

If there was some reason to play a game on a particular day, like an archievement, it could possibly create one specific day when finding an opponent is much easier, truely making it easier to discover a new game that usually is hard to play due to people not playing it.

If you want to find people to play with, make a tournament or join a group (or several) and post about it there. Even better, make a new group for people who want to play the new game on the day it is released (if such a group doesn't exist yet).

BGA gives us the games and the "social media framework", then we as users can find others to play with and organize events for those people.
Our games make you think! https://Simplicatus.Games is an independent publisher and distributor of indie tabletop games.

Click the BGA logo in the top left and scroll down a bit.

Et voila, the calendar with the treasure chest shows up. (At lest it does on my iPad.)

So if a game is offered as prize and you claim it, does that mean you're now allowed to play and and start matches whenever? Not sure I understand this advent calendar thing :|

The game is not a prize. You're not "claiming" anything. You can play all the games even if you never touch the calendar.

The prize is for going clicky clicky for a certain number of days in a row. It's just like any other streak that has been injected in many modern apps and sites.
