Players conceding/resigning the game early

I'm getting sick of sore losers resigning games early. I'll get really lucky and manage to roll 3 or 4 yahtzee's early in the game. I get excited that I could potentially be on to break my high score, only for the other player to pull out because I've "already won" or "they want to save 2 minutes" or "we're just delaying the inevitable".
I think this is a terrible option to have in the game and is leaving the fate of the game and whether you get a high score or not in the hands of your opponent.
This needs to change. Would be interesting to get the thoughts of other players?

There was always people conceding a game here and there and I wouldn't mind that much. Recently tho, I haven't been able to finish a game where I was ahead, even sometimes when it was still possible for the other person to win (it is a game of luck, you can have unimaginable lucky rolls sometimes). In fact, the only games of Yahtzee I can see to the end these days are those I'm loosing.

I'm also experiencing more of the "abandon on last roll". So I'm playing a game, I'm joyful that the other one hasn't abandoned it early and on my last roll (while the other one has nothing left to roll) they'll conceide victory instead of letting me play my last hand. It feels very petty....

It looks like people want to play only if they win, which is a strange take on games. And to be clear : I get that sometimes you have to abandon. I also get that in games that require high-strategy gaming, in tournaments or else it can be a common practice. But in a 2 to 4 minutes game of luck, what's the point of playing if you can't take losing?

I see no reason to force one player to watch another play with themselves. If they've lost and want to move on, that's fine, and what conceding is for.

I don't understand the problem... I concede because it's obvious I've lost and I declare myself defeated. What's wrong with that? I play triple maxi yatzy and if I have 3 rolls left and the other player has 20 and there are 4-5 plays left, what's the point of going on? I've lost, I give up and my opponent gets the same points anyway.

I don't see anything wrong in letting people resign when they realize they've lost if they want to. On the contrary, forcing them to continue would actually be rather unpleasant: the fact that you want to indulge in how good your game was isn't a valid reason to force a defeated player to sit through it. You won, take it and go next.

I do find it frustrating but I also imagine if your time is limited and you want to just play the next game, you do it. Do you take a loss at all for conceding?

Conceding is basically the same as if you played the game out and lost.

I am also sad when someone leaves early when I've been enjoying the game, but I see other people's perspective on why they want the option to do that. I do wish that the non-conceding player had the option to continue play, though; this would be great for games like Yahtzee where the other players' actions don't impact your own and only determine who wins, so even if your opponent accepts defeat and leaves you could keep playing a fun game or work towards a top score. Seems like a win-win option to me

Yes, would be great if the game allowed you to finish your own side of the game even after the opponent has conceded.
