since not every game gets equal amount of attention. While that's fine if the players want to play a certain game it can be challenging finding enough players allowing us to play against the computer as an alternative could be a solution. in addition it can give us a safe way to get familiar with the games mechanics without fear of hurting the ELO. Such as making sure we know how to perform certain moves and allowing us to get a grasp of the strategies that the game uses.

Coding a competent AI for each game is way too much effort. Even writing an AI that makes random legal moves would be difficult in many games.

I see that you are a Premium member, so this can be accomplished by playing through a game in hotseat mode. Premium users can start unranked games in Hotseat mode which would allow you to control multiple players to learn a game. I've only ever used it for that purpose (or to test the interface for other purposes), not to actually play against another person. You can find the Hotseat option at the bottom of the list of friends after you click the button to invite specific people to the table (when starting a game from the Play Now page in Manual mode).

As FSKFSK pointed out, even implementing a dumb bot can be a challenge, let alone one that it would be worth playing against. Here is an example of the logic for implementing Tic Tac Toe.
