I’m in many different groups on BGA, but most sit unused because I never know when something new is posted unless I happen to check the page.
It used to be that group announcements showed up on the homepage—now they don’t. My suggestion: allow group members to toggle notifications for posts. If you want updates from a group, turn it on. If you don’t, turn it off.
This would help groups become active social spaces again instead of being forgotten.
As an example: I follow a large BGA-based tournament called United We Stand (700+ members). I used to read recaps, team reviews, and even video updates directly in the group. Sadly, most members like myself probably never see them because they don’t know the post exists. This year I wanted to sign up for the tournament but I am not even sure when they posted for sign ups.
If we had optional post notifications, those who want to stay informed could do so without needing to leave BGA or check constantly.
