Beta games advertised on the front page...?

As far as I understand, the delay with games moving from beta to full release isn't about whether they are fully tested, but about when they can be scheduled to be announced. BGA only announce new games twice per week and bigger titles from publishers often take precedence. This is part of the reason things like the summer of games exist, as it allows a number of smaller games to be announced in a short time.
