Unwanted Games - Duel

Post by KWeltz29 »

Hi Everyone,
I keep randomly getting added to games that I have not chosen to join. I then get notifications to say that I ran out of time on Table such and such and so I have lost. I then loose 4 karma points.

Does anyone know whats going on here please?

Thanks,

At some point in the past you signed up for this tournament Showdown Extravaganza • EDITION 006 7 Wonders Duel Tournament, which began on July 10, 2024. As that tournament page states, it is a Swiss tournament that is going to last a total of 20 rounds. You may not have noticed it was a Swiss tournament, or understood what that means, or paid attention to how many rounds it was going to last. In a Swiss tournament, you aren't eliminated after a loss the way you are in a bracket tournament. Every participant stays in the tournament for the specified number of rounds. So whether you understood it or not you are still registered for this tournament that is going to last possibly 6 or 7 more months (because the maximum round time is 30 days).

If you don't want to be in this tournament anymore, go to the page I linked above and click "Withdraw from the tournament," the red button in the upper right of the page.

I'll also note that making this a 20-round tournament spanning over 1.5 years is kinda silly because an undefeated player was already determined after only 9 rounds (and would have been even with up to 512 entries), and so there was really not much point in continuing after that. But there's no qualifying exam for creating tournaments nor any kind of tutorial or FAQ informing people of this basic math.
