Unfair behaviour report

Post by jolinha »

Where can l report a player that was playing unfair: I opened a fast play game, still each turn had over 2 minutes. I was asking the player to play fast, as l have to work, but then they were waiting each time the maximum just before running out of time, also in very obvious moves with no other options. I think this is so much against FairPlay, of course l gave a red thumb, but other players should be protected against this attitude.

I don't like this kind of attitude, but they did nothing illegal.

Red thumb is the best way to deal with that.

Using all of your time is not "unfair," even if it is unnecessary or intentional. It's fine if you want to expel someone the moment their time goes to zero (plus the 20 seconds cooldown), but no, you cannot try to bully someone into playing faster than the time they are allowed. Feel free to upvote the suggestions in the bugs/suggestions database for even faster time settings.

I once had the same experience. I started to do the same then, and after 2 or 3 turns, the other player played within a reasonable time ;-)

Agreed. The OP's bullying behavior probably brought on an equally unsportmanlike response. Still, the OP initiated the bullying - as was stated, players are entitled to their full time allotment and if you didn't budget enough time to play the entire game as it could play out, you shouldn't enter the game to begin with.

In this case, I would have red-thumbed the OP for such behavior.

Asking players on BGA to play fast in chat is rude and will almost always backfire and make the game take longer.

First, they will keep using extra thinking time out of spite. Secondly, they will likely want to use that extra time to strategize and try harder than they normally would to beat you.
