17 tickets and 242 points - whoa

Just finished a game in Big Cities. The person KILLED me. They got 17 tickets and 242 points.

Never seen that many of either. I've gotten over 200 points a couple of times. But wow.

Got me thinking, what is the most of either you've seen?

Thought I'd share how about how badly I was beaten. HA

I don't know about Big Cities, but in the basic version of the game, when someone scores very high it's just because they had an accommodating opponent and got lucky with the draws, rather than because they played well. Almost any score above 140–145 is a sign of a bad game rather than a good one. Probably in Big Cities there is room for drawing tickets more often than in the standard one and the northern part of the map is a bit less strong, but in general I wouldn't be surprised if closing fast with long routes and/or blocking ticket fiends would still be the strongest strategy. But I'm not sure if we will ever know for sure since afaik noone among the pros plays 1910

I used to play BC and the best strategy was to block and longboat mainly. It's easier to win since you don't need to bother with the longuest, but not enough high level games to be quite sure.

I just got 197 points with 9 destinations in the Basic game and I did not get longest route.
