As reflected in the Digit Code forum, this new rule makes most games end in a tie or being solved on a 50-50 bet. Remember we are the hardcore gamers who post here, we truly want these games to shine but at the moment it is SO frustrating as a competitive game.

It would be great if the victory of both sides resulted in no one losing points

Then it wouldn't be elo. Elo is supposed to be a skill measure, or a means of predicting the winner. It is not an experience score or an achievement system. See https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 10#p224610

What is the reason to not just use the official rules for the offline game (i.e. in a 2p game each player would both set up a puzzle for the opponent and try to solve the opponent's puzzle)? Is that still an option that might be considered? It seems like it would improve the game a lot.

The new first/second player rule makes me want to quit as soon as I see that I'm first player.

Maybe change it so that every player gets a chance to give their solution after one player finds it? Still not as good as the other proposed changes, imo, but the way it is now is just too unfair for first player.

Thank you for letting players guess after their turn! This is such a huge improvement! Now it would probably better to remove the first/second player thing. But regardless, thanks!

wow didn't read the official rules... but yes such a shame to not have this mode in BGA.

Also, we talking a lot about 2p but I fell we have the same issue in multiple player. most of the time the game finish in a tie with all players giving the good answer... OR stall information if you are first player.

I saw now we can submit an answer directly after our turn.. let's see how the dynamics is changed

After multiple game... I still find some issue with the system.

The first/second player should still be used.
so if the first player ask for a hint then guess the good answer... technically, the second player should have the right to guess the answer as well (but without any new hint)

Too many times, the winner is decided by some luck: eitheir a good hint reducing drastly (or all) possibility ... Or the previous player gave too much hint (inatentionnaly) but not enough to guess well... and the second player can easily ask for a good hint giving him easy guessing.

So again, the only solution to have a fair 2 player game is to have the official 2 player rule...
